JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Penn State seeks applicants for a Postdoctoral Scholar position. The successful candidate will conduct research on watershed-scale reactive transport modeling and machine learning to understand hydrological and biogeochemical coupling and the future of water quality.
Requirements and Qualifications:
The Postdoctoral Scholar must have a Ph.D. in environmental engineering or a related earth and environmental science field by the appointment start date. The successful candidate must have experience in big data analysis, machine learning (preferably deep learning), or reactive transport modeling, as well as a proven record of publications in refereed journals.

This is a term appointment, funded for one year from date of hire, with an excellent possibility of renewal depending on performance and funding availability.
