JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Department of Mechanical Engineering at the Pennsylvania State University is seeking a Postdoctoral Scholar to perform research under the direction of Professor Aman Haque.

Job Duties:

  • Perform electrical characterization on semiconductor devices as function of radiation exposure. The specimens are discrete wide bandgap devices (diodes and transistors), as well as larger systems (field programmable gate arrays, memory).

  • Perform high resolution analytical microscopy and spectroscopy to perform identify radiation induced degradation in electronic materials and devices.

  • Perform in-situ experiments on devices and materials.

  • Analyze data.

  • Disseminate findings in journals and conferences.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Ph.D. by the appointment start date in Electrical/Computer/Mechanical/Materials/Nuclear Engineering or a related discipline.

  • Excellent command on TEM imaging and analysis.

  • Foundation on semiconductor device physics, reliability is very helpful.

  • Excellent written/oral communication skills.

  • Experience in radiation effects on electronic materials and devices is very helpful.
