Carnegie Mellon University’s department of Mechanical Engineering is searching for a Postdoctoral Research Associate to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in an interesting and challenging work environment. As part of deep robot learning, you will be responsible for building scalable, adaptable and reliable robots that can seamlessly interact with the real world. It will require a thorough understanding of machine learning, robotics, and multi-modal learning and large language models.
Leading the CMU Safe AI Laboratory, Ding Zhao aims to create trustworthy AI that is robust, safe, generalizable as well as explainable, verifiable, and human-centric. His long-term goal is to develop fundamental theories and practical technologies to safely deploy AI to address some of the world's most pressing problems.
Your core responsibilities will include:
Working with various projects on enabling intelligent robots' tool-use capabilities to solve real-world physical puzzles.
Assisting PI to write research proposals, papers, code, and reports for the Google's project.
Publishing top venues.
Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
PHD degree in ML or robotics required

Familiar in embodied AI. Particularly, applicants should have published papers in top ML conferences.
