The Center for Agricultural and Rural Development (CARD) at Iowa State University is seeking a postdoctoral researcher to work on projects related to the socioeconomic factors and localized impacts of solar and renewable energy systems, including agrivoltaic systems. The successful candidate will work with Dr. Hongli Feng to understand the attitudes and perceptions of stakeholders involved in solar energy including agrivoltaic systems and the policies and other driving factors in an interdisciplinary setting. To this end, the hired postdoctoral researcher will design survey questionnaires and experiments, collect primary data through interviews and survey distribution, and perform statistical and econometrics analyses of primary and secondary data to qualitatively and quantitatively evaluate socioeconomic factors underlying the adoption or support decisions regarding different solar energy systems.
The successful candidate will be expected to deliver research reports, prepare manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals, and present at academic conferences.
This is a 12-month position renewable for up to three years, contingent upon funding and satisfactory performance. The position is available immediately.

Ph.D. in agricultural economics, environmental and resource economics, energy economics, or a closely related field, or have completed the final oral examination for a doctoral degree by the date of application.
At least two publications in peer-reviewed economics journals and strong econometric skills with the ability to apply different econometric models.
Proficient in using the Qualtrics platform for online survey design and process programming skills in Stata and R
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in conducting surveys and experiments
Prior research experience in renewable energy or solar energy
