ROLE DEFINITION
DuPont is seeking motivated and talented postdoctoral candidates to join our dynamic research team. Our two-year postdoctoral program offers excellent opportunities to gain hands-on experience and contribute to ground-breaking research in chemistry, materials science, chemical engineering, or related fields. Our program combines cutting-edge facilities, state-of-the-art equipment, and expert mentorship to prepare postdocs for successful careers in industry.
As a postdoc at DuPont, you will work on challenging projects alongside world-class scientists, network with professionals from diverse disciplines across the global DuPont, publish high-impact DuPont reports (e.g., technology transfer packages, ELN, and EDL reports) with the potential to contribute to patents or conference proceedings.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Eligibility: Applicants for DuPont's postdoctoral program must be eligible to work in Canada for at least 2 years, and hold a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in a relevant field, such as chemistry, engineering, materials science or other related disciplines. Candidates will be considered from a variety of sub-specialties within those fields. Other factors that may be considered include the candidate's research experience, publication record, letters of recommendation, and overall personal qualifications.
Requirements:
- Ph.D. in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering, or a related field
- Excellent communication, team collaboration, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Willingness to learn new techniques and concepts
- Proven ability to work safely
- Strong research record as demonstrated by publications in peer-reviewed journals or conferences
- Strong desire to commercialize technology with sustainable approaches
- Experience in chemical process development, scale-up, optimization, and data science is desirable
- Experience with process control, statistics, optimization models, and software such as Aspen, is desirable
RESPONSIBILITIES DESCRIPTION
Potential responsibilities of postdoctoral candidates are defined generally below, given the wide range of projects they may be required to support.
- Work in a multi-disciplinary team to develop new products or processes from lab proof of concept, piloting to technology transfer for commercialization
- Design, execute, and analyze experiments to investigate material properties and behaviours, and present results and objectives to key stakeholders
- Design, set up, and operate chemical processes at lab and pilot scales
- Develop and improve material processing methods and techniques using a combination of hands-on experimentation with potential for modelling experiments
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve technical problems
- Mentor and train junior team members, such as technicians or technologists
- Assist in the development of new and existing chemical processes and product development in areas such as electronics, adhesives, purification, building materials, and reaction engineering
- Document and report experimental data, generate technical documentation, and publish scientific findings in internal document systems and potentially patents
- Support execution of DuPont 2030 Sustainability Goals strategy at Kingston
