The Lamba Lab in the Department of Immunology and Regenerative Medicine at Genentech is seeking a self-motivated and curious Postdoctoral Fellow to develop and drive projects on retinal disease modeling and repair. The Departments of Immunology and Regenerative Medicine are part of Genentech Research and Early Development (gRED): scientists in gRED are at the interface between academic and industry research and are expected to present their research in publications as well as international conferences in addition to intra- and inter-departmental meetings. The Lamba lab is interested in understanding retinal disease pathogenesis using human stem cell based models.
The Opportunity:
Focused on develop novel in vitro disease models for understanding disease pathogenesis and/or test novel therapeutic hypothesis for retinal diseases.
This role will require the ability to conceive, plan, and conduct independent research.
You will have a positive, resilient, and collaborative attitude with the ability to develop novel hypothesis and drive projects.
Who You Are:
Ph.D. with a proven track record of excellence in either Stem Cell Biology, Reprogramming, Cell Biology or Neuroscience
Must have advanced at least one key research project as evidenced by a first author paper published or accepted in a leading peer-reviewed journal.
Strong background in culturing and manipulating organoid models, CRISPR screens or stem cell biology as evidenced by a first author paper published or accepted in peer-reviewed journals.
Preferred:
Computational skills, retinal in vivo experience, or omics experience would be advantageous.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of South San Francisco California is $92,500 and $98,500. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
