About the Opportunity

This postdoctoral associate will provide human-centered computing and applied AI expertise to the design and evaluation of AI technologies to assist older adults, specifically to support independence and quality of life in the home (i.e. aging in place) despite cognitive impairments associated with aging and early stage Alzheimer’s disease.

Performs basic or applied research of a limited scope, primarily using existing theories and methods. Individuals should have the ability and desire to innovate when these are insufficient.  Assists the supervisor in the interpretation and publication of results and grants. Maintains the laboratory research team and may exercise functional supervision over supporting research staff. Primary responsibility is ensuring that the research is complete.

Assist in initiating, executing, and completing research and experiments.

Prepare and write research papers, presentations, grant proposals.

Laboratory Management.

Train Graduate Students.


Qualifications:
 

Must have a Ph.D. or equivalent; be able to undertake substantially full-time research or scholarship; work under the supervision of a senior scholar. 

Must have experience, demonstrated through publications, in the research topic, and prior history working in multi-disciplinary teams focused on aging in place research.
