THE ROLE
We are seeking a proactive and skilled researcher with experience in Bioactives Research and Nutritional Science. This project aims to improve the health outcomes of the Australian population by leveraging the benefits of bioactives in fresh produce. The postdoctoral fellow will contribute to generating a repository of Bioactive Master Files (BMFs). These files will include comprehensive information about bioactives, such as their sources, Recommended Dietary Intakes (RDIs), Nutrient Reference Values (NRVs), bioavailability, and stability.
The Role
The successful candidate will conduct a thorough literature review on the health benefits of bioactives from fresh produce; develop Bioactive Master Files (BMFs) for key bioactives found in Australian fresh produce; establish quantitative or qualitative RDIs or NRVs for each bioactive; consult with a scientific advisory group and submit written recommendations for RDIs/NRVs; perform a research and development gap analysis and harmonize bioactives with essential nutrients and products.

Essential
PhD in Nutrition, Biochemistry, Food Science, or related discipline.
Demonstrated experience using in meta-analysis and data mining techniques to process and analyse data.
Demonstrated ability in conducting thorough literature reviews and synthesising research findings.
Strong background in nutritional science, bioactives, and related fields.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills and enthusiasm for teamwork as well as passion for working in dynamic, collaborative multidisciplinary, multistakeholder environments.
Proficiency in scientific writing and data analysis to effectively communicate research outcomes.
Desirable
Experience with developing nutritional guidelines or recommendations.
Knowledge of bioactives and their health benefits.
Familiarity with creating digital information packages and communication strategies.
Salary package: Level A Step 6 (PhD) from $102,501 to $109,852 per annum, plus 17% employer’s superannuation and annual leave loading.
Appointment Type: Full-time, fixed term for a period of 2 years.
