Job Description
The Ferber Lab at Carnegie Mellon University is recruiting a postdoctoral researcher for a 2-year position with an anticipated start date of early September.The Ferber lab works on research at the intersection of perception, attention, and memory. Our broad goal is to understand how different cognitive faculties contribute to our unified sense of reality. Particular areas of study include masking, attentional enhancement and suppression, attentional sharpening, the nature of working memory representations, and visual awareness. We use behavioral paradigms, eye movement studies, and neuroimaging approaches.
Core responsibilities include:
- Developing study designs
- Collecting data and conducting data analyses
- Developing grants and research projects
- Attending lab meetings
- Publishing review and empirical papers
- Successful candidates can engage in teaching activities, if desired

Qualifications:
- We are seeking highly-qualified applicants with a recent Ph.D. in a relevant field (e.g., Psychology, Neuroscience, Cognitive Science, Computer Science)
- Strong quantitative and technical skills, and interest in visual cognition
- Ideally, applicants are experienced with EEG and proficient in programming (e.g., Matlab, Python, R, Javascript)
