JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
The College of Engineering, Graduate Program in Acoustics at The Pennsylvania State University is seeking a Postdoctoral Scholar.
The position requires a PhD in Acoustics, Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Physics or a closely related field. The postdoc will primarily conduct research in one or more of the following fields:

Ultrasound twinkling artifact for detecting and monitoring mineralizations;
Evaluating where bubble nuclei exist in healthy and diseased tissues;
Developing focused ultrasound to treat mineralizations;
Monitoring cavitation for underwater applications.
Some projects may include participation on in vivo studies. Preferred candidates should have experience in programming the Verasonics research ultrasound system, working with in vivo animal models, focused ultrasound, and mentoring students. The successful candidate will play a critical role in maintaining ongoing research while Dr. Simon is Interim director of the program. As such, they will also work on writing research proposals and publishing results. Good communication, teamwork, and leadership skills are required to work in a collaborative, diverse, and inclusive environment
This term position is funded for one year from the date of hire with possibility of renewal.
