Job Description
The Carnegie Mellon Biomedical Engineering department seeks to transform healthcare worldwide through interdisciplinary engineering innovation and to train future leaders and innovators in biomedical engineering.
We are currently searching for a Postdoctoral Research Associate to join the Regenerative Biomaterials and Therapeutics Group (PI: Adam Feinberg) in the Biomedical Engineering Department. The ideal candidate will work on independent experimentation and/or directed research to 3D bioprint highly organized muscle tissue using the FRESH technique. This position requires and in-depth knowledge of skeletal muscle and cardiac tissue engineering and induced pluripotent stem cell culture and cardiomyocyte differentiation. Tasks in this position may include organizing, implementing, and analyzing data collected from, experiments involving live human cells, explanted animal tissue, and in vivo live animal studies. It may also include development of research methodology and animal protocols as well as writing reports which contain descriptive, analytical, and evaluative content.
Core responsibilities include:
- Conducting research experiments within the predetermined research scope and methodology of department and university.
- Collecting and analyzing data, including periodical/literature search and utilizing specialized skills in related field to analyze the collected data.
- Lab maintenance, including equipment maintenance and ordering of supplies may be required depending on area and specialty.
- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
- Doctorate degree required
- 3-5 years of research experience required
