Development of a metal catalyzed carbonylative formation of acylium ions. High energy acylating agents could be used for the functionalization of inert feedstocks like alkenes. Research will also develop new methods to apply Pd catalysis to pyrrole synthesis and newly developing projects as discussed with the PI, and publishing each of these works.
Position Summary:
- Training and teaching of interns or new students in the lab.
- Oversee equipment purchasing and installation until functional as a program manager of the CFI funded facility.
- Assist in finalizing the CFI award, preparing tenders, obtaining and comparing quotes, coordinating installation and student training, and helping to maintain the equipment in working order.
