The Texas A&M University Human Behavior Laboratory (HBL) seeks a Postdoctoral Research Associate in behavioral economics, experimental economics, experimental psychology, neuroeconomics or related fields to conduct research on plants, nature and health. The HBL is a large facility with state-of-the-art equipment and software to simultaneously collect choice process data including eye tracking, facial expression analysis to assess human emotions, neural signals (electroencephalography), galvanic skin response (GSR), transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS), in conventional computing settings and in virtual reality.
Responsibilities
The Postdoctoral Research Associate will work primarily on collaborative research at the HBL under the direction of Dr. Marco Palma and faculty affiliated with the Plants, Nature and Health Initiative. The successful candidate will be actively involved in the design, implementation, and data analysis of incentivized experiments related to the relationship between plants and nature and well-being and performance and is expected to develop a strong research portfolio and publication track-record. The position also requires responsibilities for supporting research and operations of the human behavior laboratory.
Required Education and Experience
- PhD degree in economics, psychology, or agricultural economics with emphasis in behavioral economics, experimental economics, experimental psychology, neuroeconomics, or related field.

- Demonstrated record of research achievement.
Required Knowledge, Abilities and Skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
Preferred Knowledge, Abilities and Skills
- Experience using biosensors, including eye tracking, facial expressions to assess emotions, galvanic skin response.
- Experience with surveillance surveys
- Programming skills in oTree.
