JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
A postdoctoral scholar position is available in the molecular and cellular cancer biology laboratory of Dr. Wei Li in the Department of Pediatrics at Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine located at Hershey, Pennsylvania.
We are interested in studying intercellular interactions during tissue homeostasis and determining how de-regulated interactions among cells promote cell transformation and tumor progression. We integrate cutting-edge molecular, cellular, and biochemical approaches in combination with mouse tumorigenesis models to find molecular targets and biomarkers for cancer therapy. Currently, one of our major focuses is studying the impact of immune cells and metabolism deregulation on tumor microenvironment in brain tumor progression. For more information of Dr. Li’s laboratory, please refer to: https://sites.psu.edu/weililab/.
We are looking for a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher with strong interests in the molecular basis of cancer. The candidate should have strong research experience in biochemistry, molecular or cellular biology. A background in immunology, mouse models of cancer, especially brain tumors, or neural development, is preferred. Successful applicants should have a recent PhD or MD degree and are expected to have a strong work ethic, excellent organizational and communication skills, and critical thinking abilities. Please send your CV, statement of research interest, expected availability date along with contact information for three references (including previous advisers) to the e-mail address: weili@pennstatehealth.psu.edu
A doctoral degree in biochemistry & molecular biology or a related field is required for this position.
This is a limited-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire.
Employment will require successful completion of background check(s) in accordance with University polices.
