Major/Essential Duties of Job:
Work with the PIs to recruit participants and design and facilitate the activities of the educator cohorts (intensive workshops, online learning communities, on-site visits, and presentation/workshops at professional meetings) to identify and train agents of change in secondary and undergraduate educational institutions through faculty and curricular development and action research; mentor (online and on-site) the cohort participants in creating and implementing high-impact learning resources that include the key concepts of pyric herbivory and mixed-species grazing for sustainable rangeland management; support and collaborate with the cohort participants in their action research projects; collaborate with PIs and associated faculty/professionals in other education, outreach, and citizen science activities; design and conduct surveys and focus groups/interviews to study changes in knowledge, skills, and attitude of the participants of teacher/faculty cohorts, 4H/FFA group cohorts, and other education, outreach, and citizen science activities; publish the research findings in peer-reviewed journals; and co-supervise the work of the graduate and undergraduate students. Other duties as required.
Required Education and Experience:
PhD in ecology or a related field
Preferred Experience:
Curriculum design and implementation; design and implementation of research projects using both quantitative and qualitative methods; publications in peer-reviewed journals; online and in-class teaching experiences; project/program management experiences; supervisory experiences. Design and implementation of high-impact learning experiences; experiences with inclusive pedagogy and working with students from under-served populations; experiences in designing and reviewing instructional materials and providing feedback to instructors; design and implement Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL)/action research projects; experiences with grant management and reporting
Required special knowledge, abilities, and skills:
Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to travel to research and demonstration ranches, schools and universities, and project and professional meetings. Ability to multi task and work cooperatively with others.
Preferred special knowledge, abilities, and skills:
Excellent ability to work with educators; strong conflict management skills
