We are seeking a highly motivated Post-Doctoral Fellow to join our NSF-funded project (award #2222713) at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI). The successful candidate will work closely with the Principal Investigator (PI) and a multidisciplinary research team to conduct cutting-edge research, develop innovative solutions, and contribute to the advancement of knowledge in mathematical optimization, auction mechanisms, algorithm design, software development, and community impact. Responsibilities:
● Conduct interdisciplinary research in collaboration with the PI and research team.
● Participate in research meetings and interactive sessions as part of a community-based participatory action research approach.
● Design and execute experiments, analyze data, and prepare manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals.
● Lead the integration of quantitative and qualitative research into a functioning and usable technology.
● Prepare and contribute to grant proposals, including identification of research questions, definition of objectives, and development of methodologies.
● Present research findings at national conferences and workshops.
● Co-mentor graduate and undergraduate students, providing guidance on research projects.
● Teach one or more classes in subject areas relevant to the research.
● Engage in professional development activities, including training on the Responsible Conduct of Research.
Requirements:
● Ph.D. in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related discipline.
● Demonstrated experience in interdisciplinary research.
● Strong background in mathematical optimization, auction mechanisms, algorithm design, software development, and community impact.
● Proficiency in experimental design, data analysis, and manuscript preparation.
● Interest and ability to join in grant writing.
● Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
● Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
● Experience with project management and software development is preferred.
● This position may require occasional evening or weekend work to meet project deadlines.
Salary: $70,000 annually
