Postdoctoral Fellow in Communication and Outreach about Fresh Produce Bioactives

Project Overview

Translating the Science, Health, and Wellbeing Benefits of Bioactives in Fresh Produce. This project aims to improve the health outcomes of the Australian population by leveraging the benefits of bioactives in fresh produce. The postdoctoral fellow will lead communication and engagement efforts aimed at increasing awareness and understanding of bioactive compounds derived from plant-based foods.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive evidence-based communication strategy to promote the health and wellbeing benefits of bioactives.

  • Create engaging content for the program's website, social media platforms, and other communication channels.

  • Organise industry-specific events, workshops, and training programs to disseminate research findings and engage with stakeholders.

  • Collaborate with researchers, industry partners, and government agencies to develop targeted outreach materials and campaigns.

  • Evaluate the effectiveness of communication efforts and adjust strategies as needed.

Qualifications:

Required Skills and Qualifications 

  • This position is open to candidates who hold a PhD in fields including communication, public health, anthropology, sociology, and nutrition.  

  • Strong background in science communication, marketing, or public relations.

  • Experience developing and implementing communication strategies and campaigns.

  • Excellent writing, editing, and presentation skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience with interdisciplinary research teams and multistakeholder relations

  • Knowledge of bioactives and their health benefits.

  • Applicants should demonstrate a passion for science communication and a strong commitment to promoting public health and wellbeing through effective communication strategies.

  • The ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic, collaborative setting, possessing strong interpersonal skills and a genuine enthusiasm for building relationships and fostering teamwork across disciplines and sectors.
