All About You

The Postdoctoral Fellow will assist the Principal Investigator. The incumbent will conduct research and ensure that all experiments are appropriately conducted following the policies and procedures of Saint Louis University. Our lab has had continuous NIH funding and we also collaborate with industry partners and foundations. Using a highly translatable short bowel syndrome (SBS) model, our lab is advancing strategies to mitigate serious complications and provide key insights into drivers of injury in SBS and its mitigation with a novel system. We are investigating key pathways along the gut-systemic signaling axis.

We have also developed a novel machine to keep alive livers and are using this system to interrogate underlying biology of ischemia-reperfusion (IR) and to test therapeutic targets to mitigate IR mediated injury. Our other projects involve developing an organoid model system to test FXR and TGR5 signaling pathways, modulation of the gut-microbiota to assess its impact on systemic signaling, evaluating non-invasive biomarkers for liver transplant rejection and several lipidomic, metabolomic and transcriptomic based approaches.
