Job Description
School: Keck School of Medicine
Department: Integrative Anatomical Sciences
Position: Post-doctoral Teaching Fellow
The Department of Integrative Anatomical Sciences is searching for a Post-doctoral Teaching Fellow to begin August 1, 2023 or soon thereafter. Teaching responsibilities will involve the medical school's gross anatomy course with full cadaver dissection and an undergraduate-level anatomy course with cadaver prosections; both courses are team-taught with other departmental faculty and postdoctoral teaching fellows. Teaching utilizes our newly-renovated gross anatomy lab, featuring traditional dissection and extensive computer-based technologies.
While the successful applicant will demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching, the department is also interested in recruiting individuals with a strong commitment to research in some area of the anatomical sciences, ideally evolutionary and functional morphology. There are ample opportunities for collaboration within the department, whose faculty have a strong focus on evolutionary and functional morphology of mammals (Drs. Kristian Carlson, Adam Huttenlocker, Addison Kemp, Kristi Lewton, Craig McGowan, Biren Patel, and Erik Seiffert), as well as with basic sciences and clinical faculty throughout the Keck School of Medicine, the Dornsife College of Letters, Arts, and Sciences, the Division of Biokinesiology and Physical Therapy, and others. Information about the department is at JOB IS FROM: postdocjobs.oneVIEWhttps://keck.usc.edu/integrative-anatomical-sciences/.
This is a 2-year position, potentially renewable for a third year with permission of the department chair. The fellow will receive a salary and benefits commensurate with training and experience.
The annual base salary range for this position is $62,400-$75,000. When extending an offer of employment, the University of Southern California considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, federal, state, and local laws, contractual stipulations, grant funding, as well as external market and organizational considerations.
