Job Description

 

The Gates Foundation-funded post-doctoral position is available for enthusiastic, driven, hard-working individuals to conduct research into thymus transplantation, T-cell development, and tolerance in the laboratory of Dr. Eric Lagasse at the McGowan Institute of Regenerative Medicine and in the Department of Pathology at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine.

The qualified applicant will be required to conduct research, interpret results, prepare manuscripts, and aid in the preparation of grant applications. Expertise in flow cytometry is required and a background in immunology is expected in addition to basic laboratory techniques and animal handling. The applicant should have a command of the English language, good interpersonal skills, strong organizational skills, critical thinking ability and evidence of experience, and good writing skills through first-author publications in peer-reviewed journals. The applicant should also be proficient in computer software usage including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and statistical packages.
