Postdoctoral Associate Positions at the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy
Multiple postdoc positions are available in Prof. Wei Zhang’s lab in the Department of Pharmaceutical Science at the University of Pittsburgh.
The overall theme of the lab is using novel polymeric and nanomaterials for biomedical applications. While the lab is broadly interested in research at the interface between chemistry and biomedical science, currently, the lab’s research focuses are (1) adhesive materials/wound healing, (2) stimuli-responsive materials, and (3) controlled drug delivery systems for pain.

JOB IS FROM: postdocjobs.oneVIEWThe ideal postdoc candidate should have the following expertise and qualifications:
- Have a strong background and interest related to the current research focus of the lab.
- Possess extensive experience in one or more of the following areas, including but not limited to, organic/polymer chemistry, wound healing, drug delivery, therapeutic peptide, mechanical testing of soft materials, polymer/nano/hydrogel/self-assembly materials, and other related disciplines.
- Experience in materials characterization is desired, such as NMR, MS, HPLC, TEM, rheology, and tensile.
- Prior experience with animal work is preferred, but not necessary.
- Good verbal and interpersonal skills are also necessary; individuals may be required to assist and guide graduate students in the lab.
- Applicants should have recently earned or be nearing completion of a doctoral degree in chemistry, pharmaceutical science, materials/chemical/biomedical engineering, or a related field.
