Job Description
JOB IS FROM: postdocjobs.oneVIEWThe Department of Medicine, Division of Hematology/Oncology is seeking to hire a post-doctoral associate. The post-doctoral associate will learn about all aspects of running a large clinical trial, from regulatory to recruitment, measurement, data management, data safety monitoring, and analysis. This is an outstanding opportunity for a fellow interested in running their own large trials in the future. Dr. Schmitz and her team will teach the fellow through examples and experiential, mentored learning experiences over time. Further, fellows will be asked to write and submit at least three peer-reviewed manuscripts annually, mentored by Dr. Schmitz. These may include reviews on a topic of particular interest or preliminary analyses of data from ongoing or completed trials from the lab. There are also opportunities to lead pilot studies from which additional papers might arise.
Further, post-doctoral associates in this laboratory are expected to submit applications for external funding at least every six months until funding is acquired. Dr. Schmitz will serve as the primary mentor for these applications, reviewing and shaping initial ideas, reviewing specific aims pages, guiding the development of the research plan, and putting the post-doctoral associate in touch with appropriate grants administrative support for successful submission.
There is an opportunity for a post-doctoral associate to play a central role in the Moving Through Cancer initiative, gathering data, writing papers, and making presentations nationally, if that is of interest. Dr. Schmitz would include him/her in all ongoing activities of the MTC initiative.
Successful applicants will hold a Ph.D. in behavioral science, exercise science, nursing science, public health, or related disciplines.
