Job Description
Plans and conducts assigned and/or original research projects autonomously while working collaboratively with faculty, staff, postdocs and students. Education: PhD in related technical, scientific or engineering discipline. Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies.
Set forth below is a general description of this position and the related responsibilities. Additional duties may be assigned following a discussion with you:
- Work on the application of computer vision techniques to measure streamflow and determine flow conditions in rivers;
- Support our stakeholders to develop and deploy a network of stations to observe streamflow across the country;
- Contribute to other ongoing projects in the laboratory like those for the deployment of operational numerical models in cloud and high-performance computing systems to enhance flood prediction and the visualization of their outcomes;
- Write and lead high quality publications and support and co-authors other publications led by other members in the laboratory;
- Contribute to the writing of proposals to seek funding opportunities to support the development of research and the growth of the lab.
