Job Description
The Macosko and Chen Labs at the Broad Institute are seeking to hire a postdoctoral associate to embark on an ambitious new direction in our labs, to build high-throughput screening strategies to identify novel peptide therapeutics.  The project will combine mass spectrometry, biochemistry, molecular engineering, and high-dimensional data analysis to first uncover new, bioactive peptide derivatives, and then screen these peptides for activity within the central nervous system.  The goal is to identify new biological factors for modulating physiology and therapeutic candidates for neurodegeneration and neuropsychiatric diseases.Â
The candidate will become a part of an interdisciplinary, collaborative community of scientists that spans both of our labs.  Our groups have been actively working together for the past 6 years, and this project represents an extension of those collaborative efforts.
Requirements
- PhD in biochemistry, physiology, neuroscience or relevant areas
- experience with in vivo work: mouse handling, neuroscience, behavioral studies and physiology
- knowledge of mass spectrometry is a plus
- experience with high-dimensional data analysis is ideal
