JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Translational Neuroimaging and Systems Neuroscience Lab (TNSNL) in Penn State's College of Engineering is seeking a qualified and highly motivated Postdoctoral Scholar. The research in the Translational Neuroimaging and Systems Neuroscience Lab encompasses developing cutting-edge neuroscience technology by combining fMRI, electrophysiology, behavioral, and optogenetic/chemogenetic approaches, as well as using these techniques to characterize animal models of mental disorders. The successful candidate will conduct small animal neuroimaging studies.

This position requires a doctoral (Ph.D.) degree in neuroscience, biomedical engineering, biology, physics, or a related discipline by the start date. Applicants with expertise in optogenetics, in vivo electrophysiology, calcium signal recording, small animal fMRI, and/or neuroimaging data analysis are strongly encouraged to apply.

This position will be based in the Department of Biomedical Engineering (BME) and will be affiliated with the Penn State Institute of Neurosciences and the Center for Neural Engineering. This is a term appointment, funded for one year from date of hire, with a possibility of renewal depending on availability of funds.
