JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Department of Mechanical Engineering at The Pennsylvania State University is seeking a Postdoctoral Scholar in the Neuromechanics Lab under the direction of Dr. Xiaogang Hu.

Job duties include:

  • Conduct research in assistive robot development and evaluation.

  • Conduct research in biosignal processing and human-robot interaction.

  • Prepare reports.

  • Publish results in reputed journals.

  • Present research in conferences.

  • Mentor PhD, MS, and undergraduate students.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Ph.D. by the start date in Biomedical, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.

  • Experience in device development and signal processing.

  • Experience in working with human participants, especially clinical populations (e.g., individuals with an amputation or a stroke).

This is a term appointment, funded for one year from the date of hire, with a possibility of renewal.
