JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
The laboratory of Dr. Raj Kothapalli in the Department of Biomedical Engineering and the Penn State Cancer Institute is seeking to fill a Postdoctoral Scholar position in the field of Nanomedicine. Working in a collaborative multidisciplinary team, the Postdoctoral Scholar will develop multifunctional nanoparticles for cancer detection and therapy.
Responsibilities of the position include developing molecular targeting strategies using nanoparticles, characterization and validation of these agents in in-vitro cell culture and in-vivo animal models of cancer, data analysis and publications, preparing progress reports for funding agencies, and assistance with grant applications. The position requires a doctoral (Ph.D.) degree in Biomedical Engineering, Biochemistry, Life Sciences, or related discipline by the time of appointment. Preference will be given to candidates with expertise in fabrication, conjugation, and characterization of nanoparticles; cell culture and assays; in-vivo animal imaging; cancer biology and immunology.
This is a term appointment for one year from date of hire; renewal possible. Candidates must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work with colleagues from diverse backgrounds.
