The Department of Medicine, through the Center for Health Equity using Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence (CHEMA), at the University of Illinois-Chicago (UIC) is seeking applications for a Post-Doc to conduct research in the area of machine learning and natural language processing for using imaging studies to detect underlying chronic diseases. This position will be focused on using natural language processing and machine learning to develop predict disease based on imaging studies.
- Applicants are expected to have a strong background in machine learning and natural language processing. Candidates with expertise using healthcare data from the electronic health record are preferred. Communication and writing skills are required along with success in previous academic research. Selected candidates will be expected to collaborate with team members, design and manage research projects, and present reports and publish peer-reviewed journal articles. Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
PhD in a relevant field, including computer science, machine learning and artificial intelligence, or related fields
