Postdoctoral position in Biomaterials and Tissue Engineering
The Biomaterials and Tissue Engineering research group at Florida Atlantic University (FAU) would like to invite applicants for a postdoc position starting immediately. This is a 12-month position with potential of 2nd year extension based on availability of funds and performance of the Postdoctoral Fellow.
Project Description
The Biomaterials and Tissue Engineering lab at the Department of Biomedical Engineering/ Department of Ocean and Mechanical Engineering at FAU is looking for a postdoc in the area of biomaterials for tissue engineering and regenerative medicine.
Our group has been working on porous bioceramic scaffolds for bone tissue regeneration. In this project, we are interested in the biological properties and in vivo vascularization ability of the bioceramic porous scaffold for bone tissue regeneration. The Postdoctoral Fellow will:
- Work closely with the PI to culture human bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells and human umbilical vein endothelial cells on bioceramic scaffolds
- Perform in vivo mouse subcutaneous implantation and histological analysis.
- Communicate the progress in scientific & project reports, at scientific conferences, and in peer-reviewed journal publications
- Assist training PhD and Master researchers in the group.
- Publish papers.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Have a PhD degree in biology science and engineering or biomedical engineering or equivalent academic qualifications.• The candidates may have knowledge of biology, cell culture experience, and mouse subcutaneous implantation experience, and histological analysis.
• Ability to work independently as well as to collaborate in a team environment
