Job posting number: #95048 (Ref:REQ-2024-81)

This Job Posting is Expired.

Job Description

Job Description Summary:

This role aims to acquire post-graduate research experience in phased array radar by developing state-of-the-art signal processing algorithms. Research is directed by engineers and scientists in the Airborne Phased Array Program Office (APO) and Earth Observing Laboratory. It includes pre-defined research objectives and deliverables and laboratory and field measurements participation to gain broader experience with phased array radar performance.

For reference, the Airborne Phased Array Radar (APAR) is a newly NSF-funded instrument development program that provides advanced airborne radar to the science community. The multi-year implementation plan is to build and install the radar on the NSF/NCAR C-130 aircraft and conduct data gathering and analysis during ground and flight tests. Once operational, the science community will use it to study high-impact weather events like hurricanes, winter storms, and supercells.
