Postdoctoral Researcher, Discovery Chemistry (gsk)
Job posting number: #96227 (Ref:392773)
This Job Posting is Expired.
Job Description
Are you excited by the challenge of developing new radiolabeling methodologies within medicinal chemistry? If so, this postdoctoral researcher opportunity could be an exciting opportunity to consider. This role is funded for 16 months. The department preference is to have someone start within the next 2-3 months.
As a postdoctoral researcher, you will gain experience and knowledge in the areas of medicinal chemistry and high-throughput experimentation with a focus on delivering radiopharmaceuticals for in vivo imaging studies. This interdisciplinary role involves development of novel methodologies for introducing radiolabelled isotopes and potentially translating cold label conditions to ‘hot’ label setting, in addition to designing and preparing novel PET ligands.
This role will provide you the opportunity to lead key activities to progress your career, these responsibilities include some of the following:
- The individual will be dedicated to translating expertise in organic synthesis to the development of radioligands and harnessing new technologies and/or methodologies to address current deficits in the field
- The individual applies the principles of medicinal chemistry in the design of radiolabelled pharmaceuticals
- Job holders are able to react to emerging data and to independently propose a modification of plans for the area of science they are responsible for
- Job holders use innovative synthetic chemistry to solve problems. In particular, they are expected to routinely employ high throughput chemistry technology to solve chemistry issues
- Job holders support patents and publications write-ups when appropriate
Why you?
Basic Qualifications:
We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:
- Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry, Synthetic Methodology Development, Synthetic Organic Chemistry or Medicinal Chemistry
- One or more years of experience in synthetic chemistry; and in the application of new synthetic methodology and execution of multi-step syntheses and demonstrated problem-solving abilities JOB IS FROM: postdocjobs.oneVIEW
Preferred Qualifications:
If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:
- Experience and strong mechanistic understanding of organometallic and photochemical transformations
